As a young adult, Karen's passion for photography was necessarily replaced with spreadsheets and PowerPoints. Just after retiring in 2018, she attended a Ministry Leadership Conference but chose creative sessions in lieu of the usual personal development topics. The gift of a sketchbook and the inspiration of a Creative Bible Journaling presentation released her creative talents.

Karen grew up in San Diego but moved to the Sacramento area with her husband and three children years ago. She loves returning to the beach often to visit family and refresh in the salt air. 

Watercolor and mixed media are Karen's current passions. She has hosted a number of Creative Bible Journaling classes and Bible studies that incorporate inspired responses to what is learned. She enjoys creating around the table with new friends.
